This program is sponsored by a generous University of Florida benefactor whose goal is to increase the pipeline of underrepresented students in engineering and computer science. They support this goal by building early awareness of engineering careers and opportunities, enhancing STEM knowledge and skills, providing an environment of role models, and encouraging creativity. This summer camp is designed to give students experience with computer science in various applications to solve real-world problems using computational thinking skills. Our goal is to have diverse students engaged in ways that mirror the real-world work of scientists and engineers and increase student interest in knowledge of how computational thinking is utilized.

“Well I coded it, I would say cause it was like I always loved the idea of being interactive with robots. It brings a sense of responsibility it just brings and you built it and you know like now you can interact with it, it’s just designated different numbers and names to each of my robots.”
