Dr. Nancy Ruzycki at the University of Florida, Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering, Department of Materials Science and Engineering has been awarded funds from the State of Florida. The awarded funds are dedicated to designing a professional development (PD) program for grades 9-12 teachers across the state. This PD program is intended to prepare teachers to implement the new State Artificial Intelligence Framework by supporting content and pedagogical knowledge development. 

The PD model is an intensive 80-hour, one-year program. The program consists of four elements: forty-hour summer training, two 4-hour follow-up training sessions, sixteen hours of professional learning community sessions, and sixteen hours of one-on-one coaching.
